Our mission is to help women and men diagnosed with breast cancer navigate the confusing and frightening journey toward regaining their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Baskets of Care, Inc. was founded by breast cancer survivor Gail Cooper. During her personal battle against breast cancer, Gail was disappointed in the lack of professional team support available at time of diagnosis, as well as the inadequate information and emotional support provided to patients. She recognized a need for hands-on, team assistance for patients in her hometown. As a result, she is committed to using her professional skills to inform, support, and advocate on behalf of others affected by this disease.

With over thirty years of business experience, Gail is a working wife, mother, and grandmother, and an active contributor to her community. Throughout her years as a volunteer fundraiser, she has served on several non-profit boards, including the Maumee Valley Girl Scouts Council, Jewish Family Services, the Jewish Community Center, Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio, and the National Council of Jewish Women. She currently acts as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for neglected and abused children. A trained fundraiser, Gail has been instrumental in helping to raise money for WGTE Public Media, Metroparks of the Toledo Area, and Sylvania Schools. Thanks to her tireless efforts, Baskets of Care has been embraced by area hospitals, physicians, surgeons, social workers, and countless volunteers.
